The Live Shoot
Shoot a model live, and master light and shadow
The back half of the day is hands-on. You will work a real model under studio lights and learn the one thing that turns a flat snapshot into a professional frame: controlling where the light falls, and where the shadows do not.
- Cut harsh shadows with fill, reflectors and flagging, or shape them on purpose for drama
- Move and feather the key light, and watch the shot change in real time
- Flat, shadowless lighting for clean e-commerce and product shots

What's Included
Everything is provided
You just turn up with a camera. We handle the studio, the lighting, the model and the gear, so you spend the day shooting, not setting up.
- A full professional studio setup. Three Godox 600W strobes and trigger in a key, hair and bounce configuration, with modifiers, diffusers and reflectors.
- Sony cameras and lenses, supplied. Every live demo is shot on Sony gear, supplied for the day. Bring your own camera or pick up a Sony body and shoot on it.
- Live demos you can actually see. A projector for slides and examples, and a live shot-sharing screen so the whole room sees each frame as it is taken.
- Hands-on shooting time. You are not just watching. Everyone shoots the model with direction and feedback.

Every participant has a professional headshot lit and shot during the day, and gets to keep it. This is the kind of result you walk out with.

How to direct a person, professionally
The fastest way to lose a subject's trust is clumsy, awkward direction. We teach you a calm, professional way to pose and guide anyone, including people who have never been in front of a camera.
Right language
Address the result, not the person. Why “I love this photo” reads as professional, never flirtatious.
Build confidence
Easy, flattering poses and clear cues that put a nervous, inexperienced model at ease fast.
Set boundaries
